Star Wars Zombies!
Yeppers, it's ZOMBIES & STAR WARS! COULD IT GET ANY BETTER? I'm a nerd, I know, but I got these pictures for Cian for Christmas and I'm just now getting around to framing them. I decided to let the kids help me out and paint the frames so they weren't so bland.
By the way, these are by Matt Busch, who is a genius where all illustration is concerned.
Nora and Clayton had fun painting these, mostly because they got out of cleaning.
We painted them with acrylic paint and then finished them with a spray coating.
Cian loved the finished product, it's Zombies AND Star Wars people! I'm thinking of putting them in my living room actually, love Matt Busch's work!
I'm going to be an aunt!
So my sister Kara is pregnant, I'm super excited because this is my first nephew or niece. Yesterday they found out they are having a boy! Kwinten! So don't be surprised if baby stuff starts popping up on this blog.
Congrats to Kara and Jared!
Congrats to Kara and Jared!
Morbid Zombie Mondays - George A. Romero is a Genius!
Now a tribute to the Master of Horror, the creator of the flesh-eating zombies we have grown to love, Mr. George A. Romero. From "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" to Night of the living dead, how one can go from one to the other only George knows. He used to shoot short films for the TV show "MisteRogers' Neighborhood" (the original title). He made zombies what they are today, the undead rising from the grave, ripping your cheek out fun! Before George, zombies were originally a southern voodoo thing like in Bella Lugosi's White Zombie (which don't get me wrong is a GREAT movie). You'll notice that a lot of movies today were influenced by his great films and many remakes have been made in the past and still today. But none of them can do it like George.
In fact, all of the zombies you see today, including the way they move, look and act, are directly influenced by George's original view of 'the zombie'.
Now lets not forget that even though he is known for making great zombie films, he has made films on all the horror genres, including vampires in Martin, biological weapons in The Crazies and witches in Season of the witch. But that's not what Zombie Monday's are about. I can't wait to see what this legendary writer/directer/producer and author is going to cook up next.
"If I fail, they [the film industry] write me off as another statistic. If I succeed, they pay me a million bucks to fly out to Hollywood and fart."

Happy birthday Mom!
(I know yesterday was a little ranting, but it was overdue)It doesn't mean I can't celebrate today is my mother's birthday! So happy birthday mom and late birthday dad. Yes those are little zombies!
Rahna Reiko Rizzuto
Have you read this bull? Well in case you haven't, it's about a mother, Rahna Reiko Rizzuto who decided to leave her 2 children because she didn't want to be a mother anymore and now thinks she should earn some acclaim for writing about it. Being a stepmother, I couldn't see how people would leave their kids. Of course this is how I came to be a stepmother, because some selfish bitch (excuse my language, this hits a little too close to home) decided to drop her kids because she didn't want to take responsibility for her actions anymore.
These women somehow delude themselves into thinking that they still have some kind of connection with their children, even though those kids will always hate them. They will always remember how their mom disposed of them to go lead some other stupid life and her children will know that they weren't wanted by their mother. These women should be ashamed! I'm not asking anyone to agree with me, this is just what I think about it, that's what a blog is for - to express yourself. How stupid can you be Rahna Reiko Rizzuto, thank you for putting your stupid story out there for the world to hate you. You at least got me to write something about you on my own blog that's supposed to be about happy things. Read it for yourselves if you think I'm being too harsh... here.
Okay, and I'm done. thank you all for letting me vent.

Farmers Market!
Farmer's Markets are as good as it gets in this town when it comes to getting good produce or even rare produce. When in bigger cities you have the option to go to your favorite market, out of the tons around town, like in Seattle there is Pike Place Market. Oh how I miss Seattle :( But here, you have the option of Winco or Fred Meyer until the farmer's market comes around. Oh how I wish to get out of this town and somewhere I can breathe.
