We Are What We Eat: A short film
I received an email just the other day from producer Darien Davis to help out with some publicity for a new zombie short directed by Sam Toller. Along with the invite, I got the honor to preview the unreleased short; We are what we eat! Get this, the Director is only 16, which is just enough for anyone to be interested in viewing this gem. I've also been informed that they shot a record breaking 220 shots in 2 days with 5 make up artists, an impressive 6 locations and 27 zombie extras. Pretty legit! It will have its international premiere on April 27th in my lovely Seattle at the NFFTY 2012 as part of their late night horror show. They are also hosted for a limited run www.dreadcentral.com

You start off with Nicole, your seemingly average British High School student. But questions start to arise when she is bitten by her fellow classmate/boyfriend Karl. The school becomes overrun with undead teenagers who take their newly found eating angst out on a teacher, resulting in some bloody intestine goodness. My favorite part is the ambitious ending of the unknown, did she or didn't she.
All in all the short was successful and spirited. You wouldn't think a high school kid would pay so much into detail. The effects are rewarding for such a short film and the crew must have had a blast in the making of this, you can tell with every minute that passes. Is there anything more cute than a school of the undead? I think not! These kids did a smashing job and I wish them every success with all of their future productions. Check it out April 27th!
