Don't call it Rockabilly

I just like my hair like this. I just like to dress this way. Call it vintage, different, 40's, 50's, even pin-up, but please, don't label me a rockabilly. I'm not. I'm not into the scene, I don't listen to the music and I don't care if anyone dresses like me. I'm into vintage black and white movies and silverscreen goddesses like Myrna Loy. I dress like this because I love the way the clothing portrays the female form. And the makup and hair is fun and different.

I've gotten asked to join several different "Rockabilly" sites and I've declined them all because to author one of them would be a lie. I know that those into the scene are very serious about it. I just don't like the term, it's kinda the opposite of the vintage lovers style. I'm tattoo free, but I do sometimes rock some crazy colors in my hair like right now so I could see where people might get confused. But truthfully I just don't like the labels. I dress this way because I find it interesting, exciting and glamorous. Plus it gives me a way to show off my feminine side.

  3. Making assumptions simply on the way a person "looks" is an age old mistake, I think. You look fantastic!

Myrna Loy! Isn't she just amazing!?! I cannot imagine anyone other than her as Nora Charles.

    1. I love the Thin man movies! My favorite! I wanna buy the whole set, I remember borrowing the movies from a co-worker forever and a million years ago. My daughter's name is Nora :) Yes, it's a sign.
