I hated this table so much, it's been sitting in the garage with gardening stuff on it forever. It's too 70's but not retro enough, just tacky looking. A little while ago my parents got an old 60's telephone chair and I just fell in love with it. I wanted to make my own and I had just the table for it!
I've been keeping my Johnny comics for so long so I could find something cool to put them on. I found something! If you've never read Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, try it out!
I started cutting and positioning as I went. I love decoupaging.
I used Mod Podge Hard Coat for the top coating so it was nice and water resistant.
For the rest of the wood I used this special mix to stain the wood.
It goes on grey and dries espresso!
The rest is pretty self explanatory, so just go with the pictures. Staple one side, stuff with padding, staple on the bottom...
After everything is stapled...
To dimple the seat cushion, use medium wide topped nails. The heart patch is from a quick fix of a tear :(
I plan on creating a back, but just not yet. I like it the way it is.
