I remember this always being at my family BBQs when I was younger and even getting sick off of it one year. They would make it in HUGE batches and I just remember seeing about 20 containers of empty Cool Whip containers sitting in the big kitchen of my great-grandmother's. Truthfully, this was the only thing that she made that I ever liked, (this was not the good cooking side of my family)
Maybe it's the simplicity of it, or the nostalgia I get when eating it, but my lil family sure does love it today. It's so yummy and creamy, like a pistachio mousse. Yum! It might have a real name, but they always called it Green Gunk.
What you need:
- Big ass container of Whipped cream (half frozen or thawed)
- Instant Pistachio Pudding box
- Maraschino Cherries cut into halves
- bowl
- Mixer
What to do:
Whip up your whip cream and pudding until it is completely mixed and becomes a beautiful seafoam green color. I just love the color of this so much. Fold in Cherries. Refrigerate for about an hour or until thickened. It will be the consistency of a creamy mousse. Serve the yummy green goodness or don't share ;)
