I was going to make a set of coasters for the living room, but I really didn't need yet ANOTHER set of coasters in my house. So I decided to make something for the room. I wanted to originally hang them all separately, but they looked too tiny all on their own. So I did them in threes.
What I used:
Only John Tenniel drawings
Ribbon to hang
I knew I wanted to use black and white John Tenniel originals and after actually looking at the tiles I knew I wanted to keep them the way they were. I just had to think of a way to make them look good together. So I decided to burn the edges of the pictures after cutting them out to kind of replicate the style of the tile. I love the way it turned out! I picked my 6 favorite drawings, copied them and printed them out (I WOULD NOT deface my precious Looking Glass).
I think my husband was pleased to see I only used the original drawings and kept the color palette tasteful. I'm trying to hold back on the bedroom since he let me go cupcake and color crazy in the kitchen for years. Each set of tiles is held together by the ribbon holding them up. Here are some close-ups of my picks.
