Kiss of the Damned

Look, a movie that the Twihards will love when they grow up! Not that they don't have True Blood or whatever the name of the other vampire TV show is called. I'm not a fan of vampire sex per-say or even vampires for all that matter,  the only movie I enjoyed that romanticized vampirism was Dracula with Gary Oldman. But that's just a good show, plus it's hilarious with Keanu and Winona's horrible acting! Tom Waitts is epic in it though! Now that I think about it, I can't think of one vampire movie that doesn't sexualize the concept. Oh well, whatever people find sexy I guess!

Kiss of the Damned actually looks like it is made well and hey it's got Peter Petrelli! So if you are a vampire fan, I'm sure you'll love it! It's all about the heightened senses and sexy vampire love making lol.

It's been a lazy day

It's been an incredibly lazy day filled with tea, countless movies and cuddling with my Pickles. She is such a sweetie!

Morbid Zombie Mondays ~ Zombie Barbies

So while the rest of you were probably watching the Oscars, I was just perusing the zombie section of Amazon. I was overcome with a flood of zombie barbie dolls. These weren't very impressive and to add insult to injury, there wasn't a single one under $25! What! Now I'm all about putting two of my favorite guilty pleasures together, but let's do it with some dignity.

So I went on a hunt to the good ol' Google and found some homemade ones that were noteworthy.

This one is for sale on Etsy! Get it now!

Wedding Wednesdays ~ Card box

Welcome to another Wedding Wednesday, here's to crazy wedding planning and crafting! I never even thought about a card box until I saw this post with the suitcase! I loved it! And it will come in handy, some people just give you money in a card. I wouldn't have even have thought of one if it weren't for that.

Anywho, so I added the above picture to my Wedding Board on Pinterest and just after a couple days, my wonderful Aunt June brought me a box that kind of looked like a suitcase. It has awesome handles and it's the perfect color, she said she couldn't find a suitcase but she found that, crazy!

It isn't finished yet, I think I'm going to do a map collage on the inside, not too sure yet though. Maybe pictures of us? Hmmm... I'll have to think this one over.

I dressed up for the computer today

It's been a slow day...

Wedding Camp Out Poster included in our invitations!

Well since we love our family and friends so much, we decided to add a Camp Out to the festivities. Since we are having the wedding out on a big piece of land we thought it would be awesome to have everyone stay after the party and camp out by the bonfire with us. Plus, this will detour anyone from driving home drunk or too tired. We are having our wedding so late, there's no use in getting a hotel for the rest of the night just to have to checkout at noon, why not just celebrate the whole day away?

These are going to go tri-folded in with the invitations and I love them! I kind of wanted to give the look of a Festival Poster but clean enough to be put with a wedding. And I've seen these cards going around with the mason jars and fireflies that look like they're glowing, but those are printed with printer that can actually print white ink on colored paper. I don't have one of those printers. So that's when I got the idea to bleach the paper! Genius I know!

I had all of this green stock paper left over from a marketing job and knew it would be perfect but I had to test out my theory first to see if I could pull it off. So after I designed my poster I printed one off with faded yellow glow bugs for placement.

I dipped my Q-tip in the bleach just barely so as not to soak through the paper and blotted where I had marked off. At first it didn't look like it was going to work because while wet it was still blue.

Thankfully after about 5 minutes or so it dried completely and was white! Yay, success! I printed the rest out without the yellow bugs to save on ink and after blotting just 2 or 3 of these posters, you'll get the hang of it anyway. But make sure that they are completely DRY when stacking or you'll bleach through even if you don't think it would. I know... I was running out of places for them to dry since I had to make so many of them.

But it was so worth it because look how they turned out! The bleach makes an intense white and the dot look fuzzy just like a distant light.

Hope you enjoyed it!

Morbid Zombie Mondays ~ Let's have a zombie party!

If you haven't noticed already, zombies are pretty big right now. Babies are strolling around wearing zombie onesies, there are kid movies about zombies now and thanks to the Walking Dead, there are now millions of people who can't wait every week to see some human on zombie action. So why not throw a party? I actually had people ask me why I haven't thrown a zombie themed part yet, I have become THAT person who everyone thinks does anything having to do with zombies. much as I hate trends, I can't help but still love my zombies! The best thing about this trend is there is so much zombie merch right now, I need to snag it up! Because after everyone moves on to the next big thing, I'll still be sitting in my office hanging out with my zombie clutter.

I'm loving the zombie themed party idea, maybe just for some close friends (don't wanna scare grandma). So here are a couple things I've found to make it the perfect bash! With The Walking Dead starting back up again, you now have the perfect excuse to throw one damn good zombie party.

Yes, they now have zombie themed party cups and plates!

How about some Zombie Eye Martinis for the drinks! This one's made with a radish, but you could also use prosciutto around the olive, guaranteed to gross at least one person out of a drink. More for you!

This one is super easy! You can find brain ice cube trays at even the Dollar Tree nowadays. Melt some white chocolate in the microwave and add a tiny bit of red food coloring. Pour into your mold and you have some chocolate brains!

What an awesome cake this would make right? I tried to find the best zombie head mold to create a mind blowing cake! This one definitely takes the cake!

You can't have a zombie themed party without some cookies! I love these! They are so simple, but will be so damn cute!

And last but now least, we have a recipe brought to you by Paper & Parcel, Zombie Boogers! Yum and so much fun!

"Zombie Boogers" Green Candy Coated Popcorn

Recipe Difficulty: Easy
Serves: 8-10
Time: 1 1/2 hours

16-20 cups of popped popcorn
1/2 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoon green food coloring
1 teaspoon baking soda

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (95 degrees C).

Place your popcorn in two large shallow baking dishes.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt buter. Stir in sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to boil while stirring consistently.  Boil without stirring for 4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and green food coloring until the mixture is evenly colored and combined. Stir in baking soda. Mixture will double. Pour the mixture over the popcorn and stir to combine and evenly coat.

Saturday Goodies

Yes I know it's Thurday, but I did get these on Saturday hehe. Picked up a couple fun things for myself while we were wedding shopping this last weekend and almost forgot to share! But FIRST I want to show you the cake cutter my Lovely Aunt found for me.

It's a High Heel Cake cutter and server! How darling!

The heel is magnetic and removable. She got it right on the money, it's so something I would want!

Got me some bows! Found the bow clips in the dollar section at Target and the bow hair ties I got for only.07 at Walmart! Yep 7cents! Hell yeah! I thought I was getting a deal at 1.50, but they rang up at 7cents!

I have a thing for clovers and shamrocks so when I heard they had St. Patty's day stuff at the dollar tree I went and got me some shamrock shaped goodies! The scarf is pretty cute and the bowl is actually pretty sturdy. I love the hand towels though, I would have paid more than a dollar for those, I love clovers!!!!!

Oh and then my honey found both of these for me. I'm always saying if we have a baby girl, I want her room to be baby hippos cuz they're so damn cute! So he found me a paint-A-bank hippo and a hippo shower cap lol. How funny!

I wish I could show you all the wedding crap we got too, but that would make this a rather ridiculously long post, so I'll try another time!

What came in the mail today!

These babies are getting used for the wedding! Hopefully with this dress:

Wedding Wednesdays ~ Signature Drinks

We decided to do signature drinks during our cocktail hour and reception. Mostly to save some money on booze (we are a family of drinkers :) but also to give a little twist to the drinking fun! These will be the only options for hard alcohol, but we are also supplying beer, wine and champagne. Each drink will be a color from our wedding, white, black and green. What do you think?

The names are obviously song titles but they hint a little to the color of the drink. The drinks aren't anything too out there, but we came up with the mixtures for cost-cutting, these were as simple we could think.

Black Hole Sun will taste like an alcoholic Coca Cola Black, anyone remember those? I used to drink them day and night, they were my favorite! But sadly they are discontinued and no one else in the US makes a coffee flavored pop right now.

White Rabbit is simple with just vodka and coconut mix, it's like a Pina Colada with Vodka instead of rum.

Green-eyed Lady is actually something we made during our kid's bday party (just for ourselves, don't worry) when we were serving Yoda Soda and decided to see what it tasted like with vodka, freakin amazing!

This sign will go in a pretty frame on the bar.

Morbid Zombie Mondays ~ Zombie Fruit art

People have some serious time on their hands, and we @ itsonrandom thank you. I have to be honest, when I first saw the carved banana or zombienana, I thought it was some nasty zombie penis or something, check the peel. I wish I had some serious carving skills to create some seriously fun zombie fruit for my house.
