Kidney Stone Symptoms – What Are They?

Posted by Regina Anderson on

There are many types of symptoms related to kidney stones. The symptoms of a kidney stone are very similar to the symptoms of many other diseases. One symptom that can help a person to tell if they have a kidney stone is pain in the lower back.

Pain in the lower back is the main kidney stone symptom. Pain in the lower back usually shows up as a sharp, stabbing pain in the lower back that travels down the back. A patient may notice blood in the urine or blood on the stool.

Most of the time, pain in the lower back comes with a burning sensation. Patients may feel this when the patient is lying down or standing up. Most often, people notice an increase in pain after exercise.

Another main kidney stone symptom is an unusual sensation of having an ounce come out of the body. Many times, patients feel an ounce of water to dribble out of their body. Usually, there is no pain associated with this symptom.

When a person has a kidney stone, pain in the lower back is one of the symptoms. Some of the pain that comes with a kidney stone comes from a blockage in the urine. Other symptoms of a kidney stone include nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain.

Sometimes, a person feels dizzy and unsteady while they are experiencing the kidney stone symptoms. Some people describe a feeling of fullness in the stomach. When a person passes a kidney stone, some people may experience severe pain and cramping in the lower back. Other symptoms of a kidney stone include extreme fatigue, sweating, and blurred vision.

Kidney stone symptoms often differ from one person to the next. Symptoms can also vary from one type of stone to another. Some types of stones are considered to be more serious than others.

Different types of stones have different symptoms. If a person passes a stone, they should go to the doctor right away. If a person does not pass a stone, they should wait at least three days before going to the doctor.

Some of the kidney stone symptoms are scary. They include bowel movements that are less frequent than usual. These include passing a dry, whitish stool that is odorless and colorless.

Heartburn can also be caused by a kidney stone. Heartburn is severe and sometimes a patient may be able to identify it as being from a kidney stone. Severe heartburn symptoms include vomiting, nausea, and feelings of impending death. In rare cases, the symptoms of heartburn are severe enough to lead to the death of the patient.

Some people think that the side effects of a kidney stone are minor. There are many side effects associated with a kidney stone, but most people do not know about them until they get the condition diagnosed. Some of the side effects can include a lack of appetite, blurry vision, fever, and an increase in saliva.

If a person has kidney stone symptoms, they should talk to their doctor about how to treat the problem. If the symptoms seem severe, they should get a medical evaluation right away. If the symptoms seem more mild, a patient should follow their doctor’s instructions on how to treat the problem. Sometimes, symptoms of a kidney stone can be treated at home.
